Some holiday traditions have been postponed again this year, but not the Laurel Armory Illumination! Although the holiday parade and festival will not be held out of an abundance of caution, the annual Armory Illumination is slated to return to Laurel on Saturday, December 4th, and you won’t want to miss it.
Led by Laurel’s mayor and city council, the Anderson & Murphy Community Center glows to light each year around the holidays with much fanfare. The community is once again invited to gather around the tree as the mayor flips the switch and signals the official beginning of the holiday season. Beyond the tree, you’ll see glowing shades of green and red splash across the exterior of the community center. The lighting is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. on December 4th in front of the Laurel Armory. Anyone who wants to attend is asked to wear a mask and maintain at least six feet between their party and others. The Armory Illumination is free to attend and open to the public, so take it as an opportunity to get back together with your community!
